Markdown

Write Markdown for README files, docs and notes, and see it formatted as you type.

About Text tools

Everyday helpers for writing and working with lists: count words and characters for essays and posts, fix text typed with Caps Lock on, compare two versions of a document, remove duplicates from a list, clean up the messy spacing that comes with text copied from PDFs and websites, and preview Markdown as you write it.

Results update as you type or paste, and nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere, so the tools are safe for drafts, contracts and private notes.

Frequently asked questions

Is my text saved anywhere?

No. Text is processed in your browser as you type, and it is gone when you close the page.

Do the tools work in other languages?

Yes. Counting, sorting and case changes follow the rules for each language, including languages without spaces between words, such as Chinese and Japanese.

How much text can I paste?

Hundreds of thousands of lines work on a typical computer. Very large texts update after a short pause to keep typing smooth.
